if the clutch is jumping it sounds like the pressure plate may need
replacing, (the outer plate covering the clutch friction plate)
there is also a chance, if the clutch vibrates, that the flywheel may be
slightly warped,
the spigot bearing sits in the middle of the crankshaft and its operation
doesn't affect the clutch a great deal, it simply acts as a guide for the
gearbox shaft.....you may have been reffering to the clutch release bearing.

Caused by contaminated clutch disk, or spigot bearing buggered...
