Including what the Golf cost me, I've spent over £50000 !
then again, I've not lost everything on every car I've bought.
I'd say I've possibly made about £20000 in total.
But a shit load of that has gone in repairs, tyres, exhausts....

I presume you've got all those written down somewhere, else you must
have a bloody good memory!

Yup, although there's loads I've forgotten. A fair few Alfas, a couple of
Lancias and a BMW. I just can't remember the reg's of them :-|

Just out of interest how did the 205 and 309 GTIs measure up against all of
these? I'm in the market at the moment for something cheap and fun, and GTis
are supposedly good fun.

205 1.6 GTi is a fantastic car, 205 1.9 GTi is a lot more twitchy version of
the same. 309 GTI is just as fast, but a lot more predictable. Golf GTi,
unless properly sorted suspension wise (like the onle I just happen to be
selling), is pants!

If you get a 205 1.9 try and get a 1.6 box on it. Makes it a lot more
interesting!! Watch out for the rear beams on the Pug GTis though - they
dont tend to age well, and the suspension collapses (mind you, you'll
probably find it grips better as the rear wheels get more and more negative
camber)

I drove a friend's 205 1.6 and it's was horrid, tinny, noisy, rattled
little a bag of bolts. ;-)
